Fragrance Creators Association Pronounces Finished Product Firms ‘Active’ Members; CEO Ahmed Discusses

Executive Summary

Finished product manufacturers that have joined the Fragrance Creators Association in recent years will be elevated from Associate to Active members under a “strategic pivot” announced by the trade group on 21 July. The move should promote greater collaboration throughout the value chain to better inform and serve consumers, CEO Farah Ahmed says.

Approved by the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee on 11 March, H.R. 5279 still lacks any concrete provisions regarding federal preemption of state and local requirements, though bill author and full committee chair Frank Pallone, D-NJ, remains committed to discussions on the subject. He recognized preemption as “a major issue that I know we have to deal with.”
