Fragrance Creators Association Pronounces Finished Product Firms ‘Active’ Members; CEO Ahmed Discusses
Finished product manufacturers that have joined the Fragrance Creators Association in recent years will be elevated from Associate to Active members under a “strategic pivot” announced by the trade group on 21 July. The move should promote greater collaboration throughout the value chain to better inform and serve consumers, CEO Farah Ahmed says.

Approved by the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee on 11 March, H.R. 5279 still lacks any concrete provisions regarding federal preemption of state and local requirements, though bill author and full committee chair Frank Pallone, D-NJ, remains committed to discussions on the subject. The North American trade organization’s new website offers consumers a gateway into the world of fragrance. Providing a “deep dive” into 50 fragrance ingredients, as well as overviews of perfumery, key regulations, and industry safety practices and sustainability efforts, the site extends FCA’s work to engage and inform consumers at a time of growing interest in manufactured scents.
At its 14-15 September virtual meeting, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review’s Expert Panel issued five final ingredient reports, four tentative reports, and insufficient data announcements for seven ingredients or ingredient groups, including silicates and 60 red algae ingredients.
