EPA Requests Manufacturers Conduct Safety Testing On HPV Chemicals

The Environmental Protection Agency is asking chemical manufacturers from the cosmetics and related industries to register voluntarily to conduct safety testing on 2,800 high production volume (HPV) chemicals by March 15. HPV chemicals are those substances that are produced in or imported to the U.S. in quantities of more than 1 mil. pounds annually.
