Fragrance Ingredient Labeling Proposals Await EU Member States Vote

EU Cosmetic Directive amendment restricting use of 24 fragrance ingredients postponed due to technical mistakes in the text. The European Commission's Committee on Adaptation to Technical Progress was scheduled to vote on the proposal Oct. 5, but will instead hold an open meeting with industry to discuss a new draft, expected to be released the week of Sept. 25. Fragrance Ingredient Info Should Be Provided To Consumers - EC Opinion

Information regarding fragrance chemicals used in cosmetic products that have the potential to cause allergic reactions should be provided to consumers, the Scientific Committee on Cosmetic Products and Non-Food Products concludes in a recently released final opinion.
