Sally Beauty acquiring $65 mil-$70 mil. business operation for $35 mil, a deal expected to close within two to four weeks, CEO Howard Bernick announces April 27. The purchase, in addition to a smaller deal set to close within 60-90 days, will put Sally Beauty at the $400 mil. annual sales mark. Sally Beauty sales and profits were up 15% for the fiscal second quarter (ended March 31). Alberto-Culver North America sales were up 16% and earnings rose 6%.
