California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment extends public comment period to Aug. 26 for butyl benzyl phthalate, di-n-butyl phthalate, di-n-hexyl phthalate and di-isodecyl phthalate, which are under consideration for possible listing as carcinogens under Proposition 65, agency announces. Phthalates also will be addressed by the California Senate next month when it considers AB 2012, which seeks to ban the manufacture and distribution of personal care products formulated with the chemicals.
