Executive Summary
National Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods is requesting comments on background review documents for four proposed in vitro test methods to identify substances that may cause ocular irritation, NICEATM says in a 1Nov. 3 Federal Register notice. Assays will be addressed during Jan. 11-12 NICEATM/Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods expert panel meeting in Bethesda, Md. ICCVAM announced plans earlier this year to review the Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability Test Method, Hen's Egg Test on Chorioallantoic Membrane, Isolated Rabbit Eye Test Method and the Isolated Chicken Test Method/Chicken Enucleated Eye Test Method (2"The Rose Sheet" March 22, 2004, p. 4).
