Executive Summary
Environmental Working Group's updated "Skin Deep" report includes "new, interactive personal care product safety guide," advocacy group announces Oct. 17. Database comprises approximately 14,000 products and 1,000 brands, and can be searched by brand safety rating, product and product category, according to EWG, which notes information was compiled from "a core of 37 toxicity and regulatory databases." Other added features include ability to compose "customized shopping list" based on specific consumer safety concerns. EWG released "Skin Deep" in June 2004 (1"The Rose Sheet" June 14, 2004, p. 3).
