Executive Summary

Avon Solutions Ageless Results is a "multi-tasking" skin care line formulated with nutrients and other anti-aging supplements for "visibly younger-looking skin," according to the firm

Avon Solutions Ageless Results is a "multi-tasking" skin care line formulated with nutrients and other anti-aging supplements for "visibly younger-looking skin," according to the firm.

The collection comprises Renewing Day Cream SPF 15 and Overnight Renewing Cream, debuting in July, and Anti-Aging Eye Treatment, bowing in October.

The "mid-tier"-positioned range is launching to help "revitalize" the Avon Solutions brand, in line with Avon's goal of introducing skin care initiatives that restore competitiveness and drive growth (1 (Also see "Avon Restructuring Initiative Aimed At Restoring Growth" - HBW Insight, 21 Nov, 2005.), p. 3).

Formulas in the line contain Avon Daily Skin Allowance, a combination of nutrients including peptides to "help firm skin and reduce wrinkles," vitamin antioxidants to "help prevent premature skin aging," and soy to "stimulate cellular repair."

The day and night cream come in a 1.7 oz. pump and jar for $14.50 each, while the eye cream comes in a 0.5 oz. jar for $12.50. Avon will support the launch with print and TV ads in July and August.

In September, the firm will add to the Anew Clinical skin care brand with the launch of ThermaFirm Face Lifting Cream, "the pain-free, hassle-free and appointment-free cost-effective at-home answer to professional thermal facelifts," Avon claims.

The cream works through Triple-Sonic technology, which combines ultrasonic stressed yeast and other natural extracts to help tighten the connection between skin's layers with hydrolyzed plant protein and other natural tightening agents to "form a 3D matrix" on skin.

In an eight-week clinical test, overall skin tightness in subjects improved by 51% while 76% of panelists showed "improvement in sagging and skin cushion," according to Avon. The cream will cost $32. The launch will be supported with TV ads running from August through November and print ads slated for September and October, Avon said.

Also in September, the company will introduce superFULL Mascara , which creates lashes "5Xs fuller than those created by competing formulas," the firm claims. The mascara will cost $8.50, and will be promoted with print ads.
