Sally Hansen is staying true to its "head-to-toe beauty" mantra in 2008, expanding its Just Feet collection and introducing various hair-removal products as well as items for the hands and lips. Cracked Heel Repair Crème will join Sally Hansen's Just Feet range in the new year. Formulated with aloe vera "to renew and repair dry, itchy cracked heels" and shea butter "to rejuvenate and soften," the product will retail for $6.50. Other newcomers to the Just Feet line include the Spa Peppermint Foot Stick ($6.50) - made with peppermint, tea tree oil, lavender and shea butter to refresh, condition and deodorize the feet while preventing blisters - and the Pumice Stone and Massager ($4.99) and Professional Toenail Clipper ($18.99). Sally Hansen is debuting two natural butter lip products in 2008. Natural Butter Lip Shine is "the first naturally-based, liquid lip gloss available in the mass market," according to the company. The 94-percent natural formula - featuring vitamin E, shea, mango, cocoa, olive and avocado butters as well as acia berry, blueberry and blackberry extracts - "is literally pure enough to eat," Sally Hansen says. The lip shine costs $5.95 and comes in Fresh, Nectar, Lush, Pulp, Bloom, Petal, Flower and Berry shades. The similarly formulated, 95-percent natural Natural Butter Lip Shimmer, also $5.95, "delivers quenching care, hint of tint and a soft shimmery finish to the lips" and is available in eight shades - Pure, Natural, Instinct, Spirit, Essence, Aura, Impulse and Bliss. Both products are dermatologist-tested and irritant-free, contain no animal byproducts and are housed in recyclable packaging. Lip Inflation Extreme Tints rely on a Hydro-Collagen Complex with microspheres of marine collagen and hyaluronic acid, as well as cinnamon extract and a peptide complex, to impart "the biggest, sexiest lips possible without the time and expense of a doctor's visit," Sally Hansen says. The tints retail for $7.95. Volumizing Lip Shield plumps the lips while protecting against the sun. The product, priced at $7.95, contains a blend of SPF 15, retinol, hyaluronic acid and a moisture-rich soy extract, among other beneficial ingredients. Comfort Shine Lip Glaze ($5.95) and Complete Care Lip Therapy ($9.95) also are new to Sally Hansen's lip offerings in 2008. For the nails, Sally Hansen is launching a Nutrition line of products designed to feed "starving" nails "on both the inside and out." Nail Nutrition Daily Growth Treatment contains red tea (rooibos) and mushroom extracts "to deeply infuse nails with powerful anti-oxidants and help promote healthy nail growth," along with Advanced Micro-Technology "to deliver essential moisture, vitamins and natural proteins to help build strong, harder nails that resist damage." The gel costs $7.95. For the fourth consecutive season, Sally Hansen has teamed with fashion designer Tracy Reese to create an array of ready-to-wear nail colors. This year, the collection reflects designs glimpsed on the runway at Reese's Spring 2008 7 on 6 Fashion Show - "pieces that represent mystery, romanticism and ease," with inspiration taken from North African prints, colors and textiles, Sally Hansen says. "This same palette was then re-interpreted in polish form," yielding Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquers in Arabian Night, Tunisian Sand, Searing Orange, Sumptuous Petal, Spicy Scarlet, Cherry Glaze, Feverish Rose and Sultry Fuchsia. Sally Hansen's new Complete Care Extra Moisturizing 4-in-1 Treatment offers a ridge-filling base coat, bio-strengthener, growth treatment and mega gloss top coat plus moisturizing complex for $12.95. Noting that "the world today moves at lightning speed," Sally Hansen also is unveiling its "Insta" Collection. Insta-Dry Speed Dry Drops - "a fast-forward button for wet polish" that dries any nail color to the touch in just 30 seconds - costs $5.95. Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat and Insta-Brite Nail Whitener also are available for $5.95 each. Finally, Naturally Bare Honey Wax Hair Remover - for body and for face - promises to remove hair naturally for up to eight weeks. The two versions are priced at $9.98 and $8, respectively. Del Labs, the owner of Sally Hansen, has been picked up by Coty in its acquisition of DLI Holding Corporation, announced in December (1 (Also see "Newly Acquired Sally Hansen Marketer Is A “Natural Extension,” Coty Says" - HBW Insight, 17 Dec, 2007.), p. 5). - Ryan Nelson ([email protected]) |
