In 2010 Inter Parfums anticipates sales of $440 mil. - versus projected $400 mil. in fiscal 2009 sales - and earnings of $0.78 per diluted share, according to Nov. 23 release. "Our guidance is based primarily on the strength of our brands and on our new product launch schedule, and gives us the confidence that we will be able to achieve growth in both our European-based and U.S.-based operations," says Chairman and CEO Jean Madar. Firm plans to grow its Burberry brand with the launch of a cosmetics line in 30 to 40 shops worldwide, which will require a "significant" first-year investment, and expects to announce a new prestige fragrance license early in 2010. Inter Parfums teams with Jimmy Choo
Inter Parfums will develop Jimmy Choo-branded fragrances under terms of a 12-year worldwide deal announced Oct. 5 and effective Jan. 1, 2010. Rooted in luxury shoes, Jimmy Choo has grown into a complete luxury lifestyle accessory line including handbags, small leather goods and eyewear and was named "Designer Brand of the Year" and "Brand of the Year" for 2008 by the British Fashion Council and the Accessory Council, respectively, Inter Parfums notes. Jimmy Choo products are sold through more than 100 boutiques in more than 30 countries, as well as in fine department and specialty stores. "This brand possesses the quintessential qualities to ensure the ambitious development of fragrance lines that will be supported by significant advertising commitments over the coming years," states Jean Madar, chairman and CEO of Inter Parfums.
