Executive Summary
ISCO says its subsidiary Lifeline Skin Care is targeting late summer or fall of 2010 for a line of three cosmetic products based on the firm's stem cell technology. "Early human trials show that these cosmetic products moisturize skin and strongly indicate the ability to decrease the depth of wrinkles and provide factors that lead to anti-aging effects," according to April 8 release. The forthcoming line combines extracts from human parthenogenetic stem cells (hpSC) with a vitamin complex and relies on nanotechnology to deliver active ingredients to damaged skin, says Oceanside, California-based ISCO, which has partnered with fellow Californian Cosmetic Enterprises, Ltd. to formulate and package its offering. Company notes that use of hpSC "avoid[s] critical ethical issues by eliminating the need to use fertilized embryos and can be immune-matched to large segments of the population."
