Cosmos organic standard
Final version of the Cosmos organic standard has been released, Organic Monitor reports June 11. The product of extended negotiations between six European organic certification agencies - including the Soil Association, BDIH and Ecocert - Cosmos will open itself to the certification process in September. Organic Monitor notes that Cosmos will have to compete against other organic standards for the attention of industry and consumers, including NaTrue in Europe and, in the U.S., NSF International's "Made with Organic" standard, among others on the way such as the Organic and Sustainable Industry Standards (OASIS).
