Executive Summary

Swell Skin: "Minimalist" skin-care line consists of just two products - "a chunky bar of soap and face oil" - that harness the "healing properties" of sea buckthorn to address 90% of skin's needs, according to company founded by homeopath Kelli Klus. Formulated with aloe vera, vitamin E and coconut oil in addition to sea buckthorn, Swell Face Treatment ($32 for 3.5-oz. bar) cleanses and helps to combat acne, rosacea and dermatitis while promoting more youthful skin, Swell Skin claims. Meanwhile, Swell Oil of Sea Buckthorn ($22 for 0.05 oz. bottle), featuring 100% pure oil derived from seed of the sea buckthorn berry, protects and nourishes skin with 190 bioactive ingredients, 42 lipids and 22 fatty acids, including Omega 7. Line "seeks to simplify the beauty routines of the millions of women who were taught that they need a multitude of products to achieve healthy skin," allowing the consumer "to clutter your bank account with savings while un-cluttering your bathroom of unnecessary beauty products," company says. Products are available at SwellSkin.net. Sibu Beauty has built its skin-care line around sea buckthorn sourced from the Himalayas in Tibet (1"The Rose Sheet" April 5, 2010)
