Labdoor, which offers online sales of products in addition to publishing rankings within product categories based on its evaluations, declined to offer evidence for NAD's review of challenges by Jarrow Formulas.

NPA credits its improved health and expanded member services to CEO Daniel Fabricant, who returned to the organization in April 2014 after three years at FDA. However, the exec is not without critics in the industry, and NPA now is embroiled in lawsuits defending the integrity of its leadership and fighting to remove a subversive element from its board of directors for alleged illegal conduct.

CEO Daniel Fabricant and the NPA board's president say former CFO Brent Weickert's allegations in a complaint filed in California state court are baseless. Weickert, with NPA from 1997 until October, says he was dismissed after he stated his concerns to NPA's board and to Fabricant.
