Boasting an impressive group of scientific founders, 17-month-old GeneProt Inc. has raised $122 million from a variety of institutional and corporate sources. With that money, it has built what the company touts as the first large-scale proteomics discovery and production facility. It hopes to leverage that firepower into a variety of revenue sources including the sale of novel therapeutics to pharmaceutical company sponsors.
