Executive Summary
Pacific Biosciences of California Inc. (high-resolution genetic analysis) licensed Roche’s Roche Diagnostics Corp. exclusive global rights to sell in vitro diagnostics--including sequencing systems and consumables--that incorporate PacBio’s Single Molecule, Real-Time (SMRT) platform. Roche’s license covers human clinical use, limited to medical management of a human being and quality control or testing of human blood or tissue for transfusion or blood banking, human bone marrow transplantation or banking, or human tissue typing for transplantation. PacBio retains rights in all other fields including research, plant, animal, and applied markets.
