Herbal/Botanical Ingredient Identity Multiple Testing Recommended By FAC

Executive Summary

Herbal and botanical products should undergo multiple tests to confirm the identity of their dietary ingredients, the FDA Food Advisory Committee Working Group on Ingredient Identity Testing, Records and Retention says in a draft report. FAC voted at a June 25 meeting in Arlington, Va. to submit the draft, along with all minority reports and a record of comments made at the meeting, to FDA's Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition.
