Executive Summary
Adidas toiletries line represents entry into antiperspirant/deodorant category, licensee Coty says. Line is "logical" extension of Adidas Moves men's fragrance, which is based on athleticism and performance and bowed in the U.S. in 1999 ("The Rose Sheet" May 31, 1999, p. 3). Products, which also include aftershave, will be distributed heavily in food retail outlets where 40% of antiperspirant sales typically are made, rather than through Coty's partnership with Sears, the company says. Beginning in December, antiperspirant and deodorant will retail for $2.43 and aftershave will cost $5.99 in three scents: Team (energizing citrus), Sport (cool spice) and Dynamic (outdoor fresh)
