Children's chewable multivitamins featuring the web-slinging superhero shipping in March, Tampa, Fla.-based TrimFast Group says. TV ads are planned for Saturday morning Spider-Man cartoons on Fox and WB networks, with a deal in the works for print ads in New York-based Marvel Comics magazines. Increased ad spend, potential merchandising to be timed with first of three motion pictures premiering Spring 2002. Sixty-count bottles shaped like Spidey's head will sell for $9.95 at food, drug and mass outlets and on the Sci-Fi Network's Web site. Company signs letter of intent with Marvel Entertainment Group regarding a licensing agreement to market a Spiderman Children's chewable multivitamin and mineral supplement; the agreement is expected to be finalized in the next two weeks. The product, which Trimfast believes will be available in 60-count sizes and retail at the high-end of the category, should begin appearing on shelves in July.
