Phytrol developer, University of British Columbia awarded approximately $181,000 grant by Canadian Institutes of Health Research to study mechanism of action of phytosterols on cholesterol absorption, Vancouver-based firm announces Aug. 13. Forbes will provide additional funding to bring total, three-year project amount of approximately $648,000. Research will focus on Forbes' FM-VP4 phytosterol analogue and will be run by Kishor Wasan, PhD, and Haydn Pritchard, PhD, UBC.
