Clarins is extending its Bright Plus skin care line with the launch of Brightening Cleansing Mousse and Gentle Brightening Exfoliator in October, the firm said. Brightening Cleansing Mousse contains coconut and wheat to eliminate impurities, Clarins noted, adding raspberry, grapefruit, Japanese mandarin, strawberry, gentian, chamomile and parsley extracts "help restore a bright fresh, luminous complexion." The product will retail for $25. Gentle Brightening Exfoliator ($29) contains three types of micro-beads, Clarins Brightening plant complex, salicylic acid and purifying gentian, according to the company. Bright Plus, which was introduced last year, "combines the best of science and nature to help fade away freckles, sun, age and dark spots," Clarins claims (1 (Also see "Clarins Bright Plus Addresses Skin Hyper Pigmentation" - HBW Insight, 10 May, 2004.), p. 6). Other products marketed under the Bright Plus range include Total Brightening Plus Serum, Brightening Corrector Target Zone and Daily Hydrating Brightening Lotion SPF 20. Clarins additionally is rolling out revamped Extra-Firming Day Cream and Extra-Firming Night Cream, targeted to "women over 40 seeking to lift facial features and smooth wrinkles while firming skin," the firm said. The Day and Night Creams will retail for $70 and $80, respectively. Clarins recently cited the reintroduction of its Extra-Firming Day Cream and Extra-Firming Night Cream as one initiative expected to boost sales this year (2 'The Rose Sheet' Aug. 1, 2005, In Brief). The firm also will launch Radiance-Plus Self Tanning Body Lotion in October. The lotion contains "tiny mother-of-pearl particles [that] drench skin with a light, golden, iridescent glow," the company claims. The product is formulated with DHA and erythrulose to deliver color evenly, imperata cylindrica, a grass from subtropical regions, and kiwi extract to hydrate, the firm said. Additional ingredients include balancing pro vitamin B5, energizing vitamin A precursor and vitamin E to protect against free radicals, according to Clarins. Radiance-Plus Self Tanning Body Lotion will retail for $39. |
