Clarins Intensive Age-Control Brightening Program lifts, firms and brightens skin in 21 days, according to the firm. The product is the French beauty company's first formula to combine brightening and anti-aging ingredients, Clarins added. Launching in April in 1,200 department and specialty store doors, the two-step system is designed to "deliver a heightened boost of luminosity and youthfulness in a convenient, high-powered program," the firm noted. The program targets sun, age and dark spots, as well as stress and fatigue signs, Clarins said. Step one comprises Age-Control Concentrate, a lightweight, concentrated serum "that intensively regenerates skin, rebalances the skin's vital functions, and enhances luminosity," the company claims. The formula includes ingredients like Glistin, "an active sequence of amino acids" that aids the skin renewal process, Clarins said. Lotus Zymbiosome "effectively brightens the complexion, which may become dull due to the natural aging process or stress" and Alistin stimulates production of collagen fibers, the firm added. Step two of the program features Brightening Concentrate, a cream that balances skin and reduces dark spots with the brand's Super-Activated Lock-Around System, which contains two forms of highly stable vitamin C derivative and guava. The cream also includes active brightening ingredients like raspberry, grapefruit, Japanese mandarin, strawberry, gentian, chamomile and parsley extracts. The system, which will retail for $140, is recommended for use up to four times a year "preceding an event, around a seasonal change, or any time skin is in need of a boost," according to Clarins. Intensive Age-Control Brightening Program could garner up to $7 mil. in first year sales, industry sources estimate. The company will support the launch with print ads breaking in select magazines in April, Clarins noted. The program joins Clarins' Bright Plus line, which launched in 2004 and includes items like Total Brightening Serum and Brightening Corrector Target Zone (1 (Also see "Clarins Bright Plus Addresses Skin Hyper Pigmentation" - HBW Insight, 10 May, 2004.), p. 6). - Brooke McManus |
