Novartis has opened an OTC Research & Development center in Mumbai, India that is "currently working on various conventional and innovative dosage forms," the company announces Feb. 22. The center increases the firm's pharmaceutical development capacity by around 25%, the firm said. Novartis runs two other centers in Nyon, Switzerland and Lincoln, Neb. The facility will develop OTC drugs, including products for cough/cold, allergies, smoking cessation, gastrointestinal disorders, dermal infections and nutritional supplements.
