Executive Summary
Submissions are being accepted through Dec. 14 at 1www.WebbyAwards.com for the 12 Annual Webby Awards' Best Beauty and Cosmetics Site of the year, according to Sept. 19 release. Last year, the Webby Awards - "hailed as the 'Oscars of the Internet' by the New York Times" - received a record 8,000 entries from over 60 countries; campaign for Philips Norelco Bodygroom claimed the top prize in the beauty and cosmetics category (2"The Rose Sheet" April 16, 2007, p. 5). This year's nominees will be announced in April 2008, and winners will be honored at the gala ceremony in June. Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-panel judging academy whose members include Vinton Cerf, co-founder of the Internet Society; Bob Greenberg, CEO of advertising agency R/GA; "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening; author Arianna Huffington; and film producer Harvey Weinstein...
