Executive Summary
Soaring sales of Burberry fragrances led by newly launched Burberry The Beat drove fiscal 2008 first-quarter revenue up 45%, compared with the prior-year period, to $123.2 mil., Inter Parfums reports May 8. Results do not reflect advertising expenditures connected with launch, which will be recorded in Q2, company says. Van Cleef & Arpels also performed notably, climbing to $7.7 mil. from $2.8 mil. in the first quarter of last year.
