Executive Summary

Bosley Professional Strength: Bosley, Inc. extends its Bosley Professional Strength line for "hair preservation" beyond topical treatments with new Healthy Hair Vitality Supplement. Available in men's and women's formulations, the dietary supplement "will help nourish and promote healthy hair from within," says Eric McLemore, president of firm's Bosley Professional Strength business, which also includes BosDefense and BosRevive ranges, Healthy Hair Treatments and firm's Volumizing & Thickening Styling collection. Men's supplement "vitalizes fine or thinning hair, weak hairlines or areas of low hair density" with saw palmetto and vitamin B6, ingredients that may help reduce levels of dihydrotestosterone, a testosterone metabolite that contributes to male pattern baldness, as well as iodine, which "may help nourish hair and follicles," and vitamin E, which "may help improve blood circulation to the scalp," Bosley says. The women's formula, designed to furnish stronger nails and healthier skin as well as fuller-looking hair, features horsetail extract, copper, riboflavin and cysteine. Rolling out to beauty salons and barbershops nationwide in May, products come in bottles of 60 tablets for $34.95
