Hash in health care reform post: Michael Hash, a former deputy administrator at what is now the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, joins the Obama administration in a top-level role in health care reform. Hash's responsibilities will include coordinating reform activities between the White House Office of Health Reform and the Department of Health and Human Services. Hash was most recently a principal at Washington-based consulting firm Health Policy Alternatives. He was at the Health Care Financing Administration from 1998 to 2000 and served as deputy to Nancy-Ann DeParle, now director of the White House health reform office. From 1990 to 1995, Hash was a senior staff associate for the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, which was chaired by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., who now chairs the full committee. Hash's work on the subcommittee included Medicare legislation and health care reform proposals
