Toshiba Medical, Sweden's Elekta Team To Combine CT, Cancer Radiation

Toshiba Medical Systems and Elekta AB of Sweden have filed for approval to market their jointly developed combination of computed tomography and radiation to treat cancer.

Toshiba Medical Systems and Elekta AB of Sweden have filed for approval to market their jointly developed combination of computed tomography and radiation to treat cancer. Toshiba Medical, a unit of Toshiba Corp., and Elekta said their system allows for diagnosis with a CT scan that can be followed immediately in the same machine by radiation therapy if needed.
