Executive Summary
Global Blood Therapeutics Inc. (oral treatments for chronic blood diseases) raised $48mm in Series B financing from 13 investors including Wellington Management, RA Capital, Deerfield Management, Sabby Capital, Perceptive Life Sciences, a Cowen Group affiliate, and a blue chip public investment fund. The money will help fund the start of GBT440’s Phase I/II trial in sickle cell disease; GBT hopes to generate early proof-of-concept data later this year.
