Renaissance Cosmetics

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

Will begin advertising Chantilly and an upcoming fragrance, French Vanilla, in late fall. The firm, legally named CP Holdings, recently licensed the U.S. marketing and distribution rights to both scents along with several other mass market fragrance brands from Houbigant ("The Rose Sheet" June 13, In Brief). The Chantilly campaign will include both print and TV ads, while French Vanilla will be advertised only in print. The tagline for Chantilly is slated to be "Chantilly. The spray on lingerie." The tag for French Vanilla tentatively is "There's Vanilla. Then there's French Vanilla." Renaissance Chairman Thomas Bonoma has assembled a team of group VPs including former Coty execs Sean Greene, who is overseeing domestic sales, and Peter Whitaker, who is in charge of international operations. Renaissance said it plans to add fragrance and cosmetics brands through acquisitions and internal product development
