GIORGIO RED, RED FOR MEN U.S. COMBINED SALES EXCEED $192 MIL. from the fragrances' respective introductions in 1988 and 1991 until last month, Giorgio Beverly Hills said in a recent court action. Giorgio, under its new owner P&G, filed suit against Revlon, charging that Revlon's upcoming fragrance launch of Charlie Red constitutes trademark infringement under the Federal Trademark Act. Giorgio filed the complaint Aug. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Procter & Gamble announced the acquisition of Giorgio from Avon in July ("The Rose Sheet" Aug. 1, p. 1).
