RIO HAIR NATURALIZERS MAY CAUSE HAIR LOSS AND SCALP BURNING, according to a consumer warning issued Dec. 7 by the California Department of Health Services. The state agency warned consumers to stop using Rio Hair Naturalizer System and Rio Hair Naturalizer System with Color Enhancer. The warning was issued after more than 300 consumer complaints were received in the preceding several weeks by FDA, the Better Business Bureau and the California health department, the state said. The California health department placed an embargo on the entire stock of products (145,000 units) stored at the company's packaging plant in North Hollywood, CA on Nov. 23.
