THE BODY SHOP ENTERING PHILIPPINES, SOUTH AFRICA IN FY 1997, the company announced May 2. The expansion into these countries will be offset, however, by a lower number of new stores planned in major markets in fiscal 1997, resulting in a decline in the overall number of store openings compared with fiscal year 1996. The Body Shop is planning a total of 120 new outlets in 1997, versus 163 in 1996 (ended March 2).
