Mob Town Enterprises: Will market Directions Hair Color by La Riche, a 32-SKU semi-permanent hair coloring line, in 2,500-3,000 specialty doors nationwide, including The Alley, Architectural Revolution and Taboo Tabou, the Chicago-based wholesaler said. Directions will be promoted through an outdoor ad campaign including 50 benches in metropolitan Chicago and additional benches in Los Angeles, the company said. Print ads will run in upcoming issues of Details, Java and UHF. Mob Town also is planning a consumer-directed hair styling contest through its retail division, Alternative Shopping Complex, the company said. The firm recently acquired the exclusive domestic distribution rights for Directions from New York City-based Tish & Snooky, who first marketed the line under the brand name Manic Panic in 1984.
