Executive Summary
ORTHO SURVEY: 82% OF WOMEN DERMATOLOGISTS SAY Rx WRINKLE CREAM "EFFECTIVE" for treating facial wrinkles. While more than four-fifths of the dermatologists polled found "a prescription wrinkle cream, such as Renova" to be an "effective" way to treat wrinkles, physicians did not consider Renova to be the exclusive wrinkle remedy. Seventy-one percent cited chemical peels as having an effect and 47% cited over-the-counter wrinkle creams, including alpha hydroxy acids, as "effective." Ortho markets Renova (tretinoin emollient cream .05%), which is the only marketed prescription product that has received FDA approval for "the mitigation (palliation) of fine wrinkles."
