Executive Summary
VAGINAL DOUCHE STUDIES INDICATE "POSSIBLE CONNECTION" WITH PID, ECTOPIC PREGNANCY and tubal infertility, Janet Daling, PhD, Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, said at an April 15 meeting of FDA's Nonprescription Drugs Advisory Committee. Daling, a voting consultant to NDAC, said the studies do not point to a "causal relationship" between the use of vaginal douches and pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy and tubal infertility, but the data do suggest the need for more studies in that area.
