Executive Summary
NTP AHA TOXICOLOGICAL STUDY IS "UNNECESSARY AND DUPLICATIVE," CTFA maintains in June 23 comments to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences National Toxicology Program. Responding to an NTP proposal to conduct phototoxicity and chronic toxicity testing of the alpha hydroxy acid ingredients lactic and glycolic acids, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association asserts that "information already exists to support the safety and efficacy of both glycolic and lactic acids with respect to phototoxicity and chronic toxicity."
