In Brief: Vaginal douches

Vaginal douches: FDA to publish a Federal Register notice reopening the administrative record for additional comments and safety and effectiveness data of vaginal douche products, the agency said. The Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association is working on voluntary labeling for douches, which it plans to submit to FDA when the record is re-opened. The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association said it is not planning to submit additional comments or data. Safety of douches, as well as product labeling, were topics of discussion at an April meeting of FDA's Nonprescription Drugs Advisory Committee ("The Rose Sheet" April 21, pp. 2-7)...
