Filmmaker is in settlement talks with the cosmetics company Lancaster regarding the firm's worldwide use of the "all about eve" trademark. Twentieth Century Fox filed suit against Lancaster, Coty, Joop GmbH, Joop USA and Joop Jeans in Manhattan federal court June 26, alleging Lancaster's worldwide registration and use of trademarks under a licensing agreement with Joop GmbH for All About Eve cosmetics and fragrances infringed the filmmaker's trademark for a film of the same name ("The Rose Sheet" July 28, 1997, p. 9). In November, Fox dismissed defendants Joop Jeans and Joop USA without prejudice, noting it appeared the two companies were not connected with the fragrance line...
