AVEDA GLOBAL MARKETING AND INTERNATIONAL SENIOR VP SALEM will oversee the salon firm's marketing departments, environmental and marketing services, public relations, creative services, advertising and new media in the newly created post. Robert Salem, 35, was announced Aug. 4 as one of three new senior executive appointments by Aveda parent Estee Lauder, which acquired the Minneapolis-based firm last December ("The Rose Sheet" Nov. 24, 1997, p. 1). Salem is the only outsider of the three, being a veteran of L'Oreal.
