MINNETONKA STAR WARS TOILETRIES LINE BLASTS OFF IN MAY, timed to coincide with the scheduled theatrical release of Lucasfilm's first episode of the new Star Wars trilogy, the "prequels" to the initial series of Star Wars, The Return of the Jedi and The Empire Strikes Back. The Star Wars line will be targeted to boys ages eight to 14, a niche in the toiletries market whose needs are not being fulfilled, according to Minnetonka Brands. Some of the products also will attract girls, as well as adults who are nostalgic about Star Wars, the company suggested. Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Minnetonka signed an agreement with Lucasfilm in August to license the products, which will ship in April.
