FDA Commissioner-elect Jane Henney, MD, is expected to be sworn in the week of Oct. 26 following Senate approval of her nomination Oct. 21 by voice vote before the chamber adjourned for recess. Currently University of New Mexico VP-Health Sciences, Henney will meet with HHS Secretary Donna Shalala to develop a transition plan.
