Executive Summary

North American Home and Personal Care sales up 4% to $6.8 mil. led by 6% growth in skin care due to expansion of Dove and strong performance of Suave and Lever 2000 anti-bacterial wipes, firm says. Personal care sales alone were $2.9 mil. in North America and also were led by 17% growth in hair care due to ThermaSilk and Suave. Worldwide HPC sales were up 5.4%. Consolidated sales were up 15% to $12.1 bil. ([Euro]1=$.88) in the quarter. Net profit increased 8% to $741.2 mil. before exceptional items and amortization of goodwill and intangibles
