Duty schedules for seven product categories, including essential oils, perfumes, beauty and makeup preparations and hair preparations, should be accelerated to 0% in Canada and Mexico before established 2003 deadline, CTFA states in recent comments to USTR. Since duty schedules are "already at very low rates" of around 3%-4%, "accelerating to zero before 2003 should not have an adverse impact on any of the parties," trade group maintains
