Executive Summary
Propylene glycol was found safe for use in cosmetic products in concentrations up to 50% by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel, CTFA says in comments to the Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction. In Jan. 10 submission, CTFA includes copy of 1994 CIR report and notes outcome of CERHR safety review is of interest to the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance industry. CERHR will review developmental and reproductive safety of propylene glycol and ethylene glycol at meeting in Alexandria, Va. Feb. 11-13.
