Executive Summary
Personal care marketer settles sexual harassment lawsuit with U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for $10 mil. April 29 in last minute negotiations before the start of the trial, the two parties announce. In addition to monetary relief, Dial also agreed to revise existing policies and procedures that prohibit sexual harassment and will use a third party to resolve future disagreements. Lawsuit filed by EEOC in 1999 alleged 90 female workers at Dial's Aurora, Ill. manufacturing facility were subjected to verbal abuse, pornography and assault.
