L’Oréal at Sundance

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

L'Oréal will honor a female documentary filmmaker with its Women of Worth "Vision" Award Jan. 21 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, as part of Variety's "10 Directors to Watch" event. The award is reserved for a filmmaker whose work reflects the spirit of L'Oréal's Women of Worth program, which recognizes women who "serve their communities, inspire others by example, and have an innate sense of social responsibility and act on it," firm notes Jan. 2. The winner - who will receive $15,000 to help fund her work in film - will be chosen by reps from Women in Film, a non-profit organization that promotes the efforts of women working in the entertainment field. The first Vision award went to screenwriter Cherien Dabis at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2007
