AAD president: C. William Hanke, M.D., MPH, FAAD, is named president of the American Academy of Dermatology, effective immediately, academy announces. Hanke, who will hold office for one year, is an active member of the academy, having served on its board of directors, executive committee, priorities committee and melanoma/skin cancer committee, AAD notes. He previously was president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. "As academy president, I will continue to give the specialty's core issues the 'full-court press,'" Hanke says. "These issues include reimbursement, tort reform, enhanced research support, and continued educational excellence, as well as patient safety"...
