Brestle named Council Chairman

Estee Lauder COO Daniel J. Brestle named chairman of the Personal Care Products Council, replacing Marc Pritchard, Procter & Gamble president, global strategy, during the 2008 annual meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. In his inaugural speech, Brestle stressed the importance of supporting consumer confidence in the personal care industry, the critical role effective self-regulation plays in ensuring product safety and supplementing the work of FDA. Outgoing Chairman Pritchard spoke as well, highlighting the Council's achievements and expressing gratitude over the opportunity to preside over the organization. Separately, the Council elected Laurent Attal, president and CEO of L'Oreal USA, William J. Gentner, President and CEO of KAO Brands and Bradley Casper, president and CEO of Dial, as vice chairmen.
