Sunscreens Among 50 Private Label, Store Brand Products Recalled by CMO

FDA's recalls database update includes 50 products made by Product Quest that were recalled on Aug. 3 and deemed Class II recalls on Oct. 16.
Also added to the database recalls of three Royal Family Makeup Remover Wipes SKUs; dandelion herbal remedies by Tarry Medical Products; and a namesake brand protein bar by Quest Nutrition.

Under current cosmetics regulations FDA does not have the authority to order product recalls, as it does in the dietary supplement space, for example. Voluntary cosmetic recalls have been typically light in recent months, most often citing microbiological issues.
Recalls include one lot of CVS Health Sinus Relief manufactured by Product Quest Manufacturing, Walmart's Equate laxative made by Lupin's US office and 12 cough and cold products marketed under Preferred Plus Pharmacy and other private label brands and made by RIJ Pharmaceutical Corp.
